The post holder will deliver shifts from a trauma informed perspective, taking guidance from the team within the managing risk framework at the service. Lived personal/close relative experience of mental health challenges are welcomed.
The post holder will be guided alongside colleagues in the interventions on each shift and will also have senior staff to provide them with ongoing live supervision/reflective practice.
The post holder will lead on some activities in the house and be responsible with others that the environment maintains the privacy, dignity and respect of all those who use the service.
The post holder will work shifts alongside senior staff at weekends when required.

Main duties of the job
1. Build a therapeutic relationship with guests using a person-centred approach/trauma informed/social model of care.
2. Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team with guests to develop their recovery plan and promote personal responsibility.
3. To work with the peers and clinicians to plan and deliver a range of therapeutic activities that promote recovery.
4. To be an excellent communicator, know how to use time effectively, to be empathetic, compassionate and have the ability to deal with situations sensitively.
5. Actively promote the rights and responsibilities of guests. This may include supporting with seeking other services such as accommodation, benefits, and advocacy.
6. Input guests notes and progress on the Trust's electronic patient records system.
7. Build relationships with the local community and statutory services and connect guests to those resources.

6. Assist service users to map their wellbeing and recovery by using a variety of tools.
7. Facilitate and co-deliver psychoeducation and other recovery courses.
8. Work closely with carers/family members to enable service users to continue their recovery journey in the community.
9. Connect service users to community groups and networks that enable them to participate in community activities and progress in their recovery journey.

Person Specification
Education/ Qualifications
* Good level of secondary education to GCSE level, or equivalent.
* Level of educational attainment to NVQ 3 / AS Level or equivalent.
* Related Health or Social Care qualification.
Knowledge
* A working knowledge of the issues and concerns of mental health service users, including mental health problems such as eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders.
* Experience of working in a team or a group environment.
* Understanding and practical knowledge of recovery.
* Understanding of the service delivery goals of the care pathway.
* Understanding of CPA/Dialogue + and the role of care coordinator and knowledge of Trust Policies and procedures.
Skills and Abilities
* Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
* Compassionate - excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, carers, and relatives while remaining sensitive and empathetic.
* Knowledge of person-centred care and recovery-focused practice.
