Overview
Join our team as a social worker to work in partnership with children and families, addressing their social, emotional, and environmental needs. Your role involves assessing risks and needs for vulnerable children, delivering services to improve their quality of life, and coordinating services to ensure the best outcomes for children, young people, and their families or carers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Maintaining personal and professional development to meet the evolving demands of the role.
2. Participating in relevant training activities and supporting staff development.
3. Performing additional duties, training, or hours as reasonably required, consistent with the role's responsibilities.
4. Carrying out health and safety duties as per the Directorate’s Health and Safety Policy.
5. Executing tasks that meet statutory requirements for children and young people receiving services.
6. Creating, developing, and reviewing multi-agency, outcome-focused plans for children and young people.
7. Maintaining accurate, confidential records in compliance with relevant legislation such as data protection laws.
8. Participating in supervision processes.
Requirements
* Degree in Social Work.
* Current registration with Social Work England.
* Significant experience working with children and families.
* Post-qualifying experience as a Social Worker.
* Knowledge of child abuse, its signs, causes, and effects.
* Understanding of child protection practices and procedures.
* Skills in direct work with children, including those who have been abused.
* Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months or willingness to obtain one; being on the update service can facilitate a faster process.
