Our well-known client based in Hitchin are looking for CNC Machinist Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their team on a Permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to progress within their Engineering career.
Job Purpose Summary
This role is primarily responsible for delivery of repeat conforming, (to specifications) product as defined in accordance with agreed instructions in a timely manner that will best support OTIF delivery to the end customer. On few occasions helping define processes, methods, best practice, programmes, tooling, producing conforming, (to specifications) product as defined in accordance with agreed instructions in a timely manner that will best support OTIF delivery to the end customer. Helping seek approval for continuous improvement ideas and implement them where approved.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Manufacture and check conformance (before submission for first off) of on-going production requirements.
Seek approval for and support in continuous improvement ideas and implement them where approved.
Define, establish and or produce processes, methods, times, approval, documentation, best practice, programmes, equipment & tooling requirements for new jobs and or request for quotation enquiries.
Manufacture first off batches for First Article approval.
Establishing first production parts up to delivery of FAIR and or PPAP.
Support in establishing processes necessary for stable repeat production.
Communication
To communicate effectively to team and other staff as appropriate.
To provide appropriate information as required that will help the business develop and improve.
Health & Safety

Required
Engineering Apprenticeship
Programming experience 2-years plus
5-Axis CNC Milling setting and operating experience
Heidenhain experience or similar
Desired
Control systems – Heidenhain and FANUC
Experienced at working with control plans
5S / Lean experience
Aerospace industry knowledge and experience
Rate
Up to £19.50 per hour - dependent on experience

Monday to Thursday 6.30am to 16.30pm with 30-minute unpaid lunch break and
