We are seeking an exceptional Implementation Operational Information Officer to join our team and lead the successful implementation of the EPR system by June 2026. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of digital healthcare in Plymouth and beyond.
Your ability to navigate challenges and build trust with a range of stakeholders, including multi-sector stakeholders, clinical teams, service managers, senior leaders, and individuals from all levels of the Trust and the wider Devon and Cornwall systems will be critical to the programme's success. Moreover, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing the programme's communication and engagement strategy and programme benefits delivery.
As the Operational Lead for the EPR implementation, you will make a lasting impact on the way we deliver care, driving forward innovation in one of the most critical projects in our Trust’s history and shape the future of digital healthcare while working alongside a dedicated and passionate team.
Main duties of the job
Implementation Operational Information Officer for the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme is accountable to the Chief Digital Officer for the operational delivery of the digital transformation and business change workstreams of the EPR. They are also accountable for managing associated transformation and adoption requirements and liaising with system partners for EPR, business change, and organisational transformation.
The post holder will develop and deliver strategic and operational efficiency through the delivery of the EPR, quality and safety through the development of short-, medium-, and longer-term transformational plans both internally and externally in partnership with our wider system partners and Devon and Cornwall Acute Providers and in line with the ‘Frontline Digitalisation’ and ‘what good looks like’ (WGLL).
This role will play a key part in prioritising and supporting improvement in service configuration underpinned by the delivery of an EPR. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving the success of this clinical transformation programme. You must possess exceptional partnership and collaborative skills, as well as the ability to identify and manage risks and interdependencies.
You will be responsible for project assurance, risk management, stakeholder communication, and ensuring that the benefits of our EPR digital transformation projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To advise and support the EPR programme team to achieve the following objectives as the Operational Lead for the EPR programme:
* Assessing and providing guidance on digital system design.
* Provide strong, clear visionary leadership to ensure effective EPR transformation and adoption strategy, planning and implementation of new ways of working and service delivery.
* Actively engage in the development and sign-off for core operational workflows working with Care Groups, Corporate Services, and external partners to strategically plan for the future beyond EPR implementation.
* Oversee and provide direct input into communication and engagement plans and content in relation to operational staff and operational readiness for EPR.
* Lead the operational delivery of the EPR system go live.
* Lead on the realisation of benefits from digital change, including monitoring and ensuring delivery of benefits.
* Establish excellent relationships with Care Groups and Corporate Services, external partners, staff at all levels, and staff side colleagues.
* Deputise for the Chief Digital Officer as and when required.

Knowledge and Experience
* Extensive demonstrable experience of the management of clinical services within an acute clinical setting environment.
* Managing complex change, leading multi-professional and cross-organisational development.
* Evidence of recent professional and managerial development.
Qualifications
* Study towards or completed a Masters level management qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience in a similar role.
