This pivotal role focuses on overseeing and enhancing health and safety protocols within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will implement and manage health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and promote employee well-being. Day-to-day of the role: Develop and implement health and safety plans in the manufacturing plant according to legal guidelines. Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety within the manufacturing environment. Evaluate manufacturing processes, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law. Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention specific to manufacturing risks. Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations within the manufacturing context. Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions and recommend preventive measures. Investigate accidents or incidents in the manufacturing area to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims. Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures based on manufacturing trends. Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics within the manufacturing sector. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as an H&S Manager in a manufacturing setting. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and the specific health and safety challenges they present. Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety in a manufacturing context. Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics pertinent to manufacturing safety. Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus. Excellent organisational and motivational skills, with the ability to manage safety initiatives in a busy manufacturing environment. Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability, with a focus on preventive measures. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively manage safety training and compliance.
