3rd Chef – Oxford Location: Oxford, OX1 Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Working Hours: 40 hours per week Salary: £34,652.80 per annum About the Role: A prestigious organisation in Oxford is seeking a skilled and passionate 3rd Chef to join its catering team. The 3rd Chef supports the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering high-quality meals for the organisation’s community, including staff, visitors, and guests. This role involves: Assisting with menu preparation and food production. Maintaining high hygiene and safety standards. Ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen. Providing support to Chef de Parties, Assistant Chefs, Kitchen Assistants, Apprentices, and Porters. Contributing to formal and informal events such as hall dinners, banquets, and private functions. Essential Criteria: Proven experience as a senior chef in a commercial setting. Food Hygiene Level 3 Certification. Ability to produce menus and keep them within cost limits. Ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Experience supervising a diverse team. Strong customer service ethos. Proficient in IT and familiar with MS Office applications. Ability to work to deadlines. Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances. Smart, professional appearance appropriate for the role. Demonstrates initiative and ability to work without supervision. Desirable Criteria: Experience with pastry work. Key Details: Shift Pattern: Straight shifts, working 5 days a week, including alternate weekends. Sundays involve split shifts, with regular alternate weekends off. Additional Benefits: Double-time pay for Sundays and Bank Holidays.
