Liverpool Women's Hospital is seeking a locum Consultant in Neonates to join its team at Liverpool Women's and Alder Hey Children's Hospital partnership for a 6-12 month period.
Liverpool Women's Hospital provides acute care for intensive care and high dependency babies in mixed acuity rooms. There are two consultants on for acute care between 08:30 and 17:00 on weekdays and 14:30 on weekend days. Thereafter there is one resident consultant until 21:00 with handover to the resident night Consultant 20:30 - 09:00.
There is a Consultant present on the Alder Hey unit from 08:30 until 20:00 on weekdays, and 17:30 on weekend days. On weekdays, the daytime Consultant hands over to a second Consultant who remains resident until 22:00 and then provides non-resident on-call overnight. Alder Hey sessions involve morning ward rounds on the Neonatal Surgical Unit and review of surgical neonatal patients on the Paediatric Intensive Care and High Dependency units, as well as ad-hoc review of referred babies on other wards.
There is a diverse Consultant workforce. Applications from individuals with an interest and expertise in neonatal respiratory care or neonatal surgical care would complement the expertise already in the team.
