a wide range of industry sectors. We are recruiting a Customs Administrator, based in Bury,
UK.
Job Description
1. Job Purpose
To pick, scan, pack and despatch Proficiency Testing samples and Reference Material following strict instructions and deadlines.
2. Key Responsibilities
1. Pick, scan and pack shipments in accordance with current procedures and processes.
2. Carry out good housekeeping practices both in the packing room and the warehouse.
3. Produce manual air waybills and any necessary customs documentation.
4. Print the appropriate dangerous goods paperwork for required shipments.
5. Take deliveries of goods and inform correct recipient.
6. Assembly of boxes and packing material.
7. Support and assist with training for both new and junior staff.
8. Maintain an up-to-date training record.
9. Perform the duties of other staff in their absence and assist other staff when necessary, if the work has a higher priority at the time.
10. Contribute to the achievement of current team and individual objectives.
11. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with defined company procedures and statutory requirements, such as the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, etc.
12. Carry out any additional duties or tasks as directed that are commensurate with the role and position.
Qualifications
1. A minimum of four 'GCSE' passes.
2. Relevant previous work experience, preferably in a despatch/warehouse environment.
3. Excellent command of English, written and oral.
4. Good telephone manner.
5. Excellent keyboard skills.
6. Proven ability to work to and achieve set deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
