The role:
The State Clinical Director will oversee all clinical and clinical ops functions for behavioral health programs within the State, ensuring delivery of effective, efficient and high quality services to members. The State Clinical Director oversees the counseling and recovery coach teams, while working closely with the General Manager, medical leadership and operational associates throughout the State, as well as BLP’s Head of Behavioral Health. You will lead from the front, interacting regularly with clients, referral sources, field staff, and members of the local community. You will be a resource for clients and community partners, guiding them on the path to recovery. You will motivate a high impact team of medical providers, counselors and coordinators, helping clients to thrive. Your work is essential and your constant feedback will be expected to help our team help clients reach their best outcome possible.
What you will do:
* Ensure daily clinical operations/services are completed and appropriate (meetings, CA’s, 1:1’s, etc.)
* Coordinate care services with Central to ensure appropriate/comprehensive communication for quality overview for member care
* Identify service needs throughout the State; plan, develop and implement programs to meet those needs.
* Participate in the creation and/or ongoing revision of the strategic growth plan for the State and ensure its execution
* Seek opportunities and participate in the development of grants and program proposals in response to RFP’s, services requests and/or identified community needs that are aligned with BLP’s mission
* Participate in the development of the annual State budget and ensure programs are financially viable
* Directly or delegate the hiring, training and supervision of all counseling, growth and operational employees working in the State’s programs
* Monitor compliance with federal, state and local regulations for counseling, supervision and consultation purposes
* Monitor employee utilization, including setting employee utilization goals based on annual budget, reviewing utilization with employees, and developing action plans based on identified barriers to utilization goal attainment when necessary
* Provide input to the compliance team to ensure clinical documentation adheres to specific requirements (Trauma-Informed Care, Evidence-Based practices, ASAM, etc.) and that documentation is compliant with program regulations and licensing standards
* Oversee clinical requirements of payer contracts within the State and operationalize the clinical maximization of all bundle-eligible members
* Work collaboratively with Central, Implementation, Tech, Product, Medical, and other State leaders to support projects/initiatives within the State
* Manage counseling team dynamics with strong, professional judgment and in a way that does not jeopardize group integrity
* Facilitate counseling groups and one-on-one with clients, when necessary
You are a good fit if you have:
* Graduate Degree in counseling, social work, psychology or other relevant field
* Licensure within the State as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and/or Clinical Social Worker. Multi-State licensure preferred.
* Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience working in the treatment and recovery field
* Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in managerial or leadership roles. Experience working collaboratively with Medical Providers preferred.
* Familiarity with State regulatory requirements for outpatient treatment services as well as CARF standards for care
* Willingness to travel throughout the State in order to be familiar with our in-person locations as well as facilitate in-person meetings with BLP Teammates
This is a hybrid position. Must be able to regularly work in-person at our office in Manchester, travel throughout the state, and able to travel for regular meetings at our offices in Boston, MA or Short Hills, NJ or Manhattan NY approximately monthly. When not in-office, work will be performed remotely. Candidates must reside in-market.

* Must be in commutable distance to Manchester, NH
* Must have a valid driver’s license
* Must be willing to travel locally within the communities we serve
* Must have internet service with minimum upload/download ability
* Company will provide equipment (laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset) plus a remote work stipend
* Must have a quiet space to speak to members with minimal background noise
* Must understand the importance of protected health information and ensure any data/information is not visible to others
This is a full-time, exempt position. The starting salary range for this position is $89,250 - $112,875 annually + equity + benefits. The final compensation package is influenced by various factors such as experience, education, degrees earned, market data, and business requirements.
