Our Client has secured 5 years of work with Southern Water for their AMP7 programme of works (2020 to 2025).
Working predominantly in the East of Southern Water's region, the scale of the works is likely to be greater than £350m and will comprise multiple sites across Kent and Sussex on both clean and dirty water sites.
The AMP7 model has been transformed to enable a more efficient and collaborative way of working. Such a model requires the best people to be working in the concept and definition project phases through into delivery, arriving at the most economical solutions to meet the Clients' regulatory requirements. The programme delivery approach will require a blend of both programme delivery and project expertise across all disciplines.
They are really excited about the journey they are about to embark on with Southern Water and are seeking the best people to ensure we can function efficiently and professionally across all phases of the newly transformed Asset Lifecycle Process. As such, we require a long-term temporary Commissioning Engineer.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing all commissioning activities ensuring work is undertaken safely in accordance with Company Procedures, specifications, and good working practices.
2. Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all commissioning activities from design through to scheme final completion.
3. Reporting commissioning/process/closeout activities and progress to the Area MEICA Manager.
4. Monitoring testing & commissioning budget.
5. Carry out Commissioning Engineers R&R's and deliver schemes in a safe compliant manner.
6. Review and monitoring of MEICA related Project risks.
7. Review and monitoring of Services & Other Things to be Provided by the Employer.
8. Attend commissioning systems inductions and toolbox talks.
9. Liaise with Design Coordinator to ensure plant commissioning requirements are incorporated at design stage and included in appropriate scope of works.
10. Review of design deliverables, including FDS, equipment and instrument lists, P&IDs, control philosophy and telemetry requirements.
11. Review and development of Compliance & Commissioning Plans in conjunction with design intent.
12. Oversee and sign off FAT and SAT, and process witness tests.
13. Assist in development of initial Commissioning Programme.
14. Attend Progress & Commissioning Meetings.
15. Compile commissioning documentation and deliverables.
16. Provide input into Commissioning Strategy Reviews and Documentation.
17. Liaise with sub-contractors regarding commissioning deliverables and interfaces.
18. Assist Training Coordinators in compilation of training deliverables and engage in SW Training sessions.
19. Assist O&M Coordinators in compilation and review of O&M Manuals.
20. Distribute Commissioning Log / Daily Diary's and any other information from Engineers.
21. Assist in the preparation of take over reports.
22. Liaise with the complete scheme delivery team.
Experience, Skills and Requirements:
1. CSCS Card.
2. Fully calibrated testing equipment - Calibration certificates will be required.
3. Previous water or utilities experience.

Working Hours: 08:00 - 18:00
