About the role
Global Internal Audit & Controls provides assurance to the WBA Audit Committee and other key stakeholders in relation to the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls.
The Senior Manager role within the International Segment spans the Internal Audit and Internal Controls parts of the team to provide operational management and delivery of a designated portfolio of audit activities, manage the internal control attestation process for the International Segment and support the ongoing integration of the Internal Audit & Controls team.
The Senior Manager will work as part of the WBA International Segment Internal Audit & Controls team to:
* Represent the Internal Audit & Control team with internal and external stakeholders;
* Manage the delivery of the SOX internal control attestation program and non-SOX internal control activities;
* Manage the delivery of a designated portfolio of audit activities to budgeted cost, time and quality, as well as the end-to-end delivery of each audit through to final reporting, wrap up and closure;
* Manage operational resource planning and budgets, including use of external off-shore and co-source partners; and
* Manage external relationships, including the external auditor, the off-shore and co-source audit partners.
* Approximately four direct Internal Control reports, with a further three reporting indirectly.
What you'll need to have
* Academic qualifications including a bachelor's degree or higher.
* A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong understanding of financial accounting, Sarbanes Oxley, statutory audit requirements and internal audit through direct experience (a formal professional qualification such as CMIIA or equivalent is an advantage).
* Experience delivering Internal Audit and Internal Control activities to time, cost and quality, including resource allocation and budgetary management.
* Technical expertise and knowledge of internal control programs, internal audit practice, governance, risk management and internal control
* Ability to summarise technical issues for a non-technical audience and clearly articulate issues to a broad audience at different levels and across multiple locations.
* Experience in analysing, diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues to drive improvements and find solutions and/or make recommendations.
* Line management experience including motivating, leading, coaching, developing and performance managing team members.
It would be great if you also have
* Leading, developing and managing internal audit and control activities.
* Preparing summary reporting and presenting in person to senior executive stakeholders.
* Good knowledge of financial reporting standards (US GAAP, IFRS) and Sarbanes Oxley/similar compliance programmes are pre-requisites; whilst experience of auditing large programmes and knowledge of programme governance frameworks (PRINCE2, Agile, MSP)
