About Us
At GRAHAM, we are committed to growth and innovation. As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and experienced Estimator/Senior Estimator to join our Civil Engineering Division, with a focus on the Highways sector.
Your Role
As an Estimator / Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates within our Civil Engineering Division. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Liaising with the Civils Bid Manager on bid programmes and key dates.
2. Checking tender documents and conditions of contract.
3. Managing Assistant Estimators as needed.
4. Preparing and sending out enquiries for materials and sub-contracts.
5. Conducting site visits and preparing necessary documents.
6. Pricing items in the Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and temporary works.
7. Preparing adjudication sheets and reports.
8. Ensuring timely submission of tender documents.
9. Reporting tender results to the Estimating Director.
What We’re Looking For:
Technical Competencies:
1. Strong understanding of the Civil Engineering market, ideally with a contractor's background.
2. Complete understanding of the estimating process.
3. Excellent communication skills and experience presenting tenders.
4. Ability to assess project risks and opportunities.
5. Competence in using estimating software (training provided).
6. Ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
1. Knowledge of the supply chain and construction programmes.
2. Understanding of Mechanical & Electrical fields in Civil Engineering.
3. Previous site experience and experience pricing marine projects.
Behavioural Competencies:
1. Effective communication and report writing.
2. Strong planning and prioritising skills.
3. Problem-solving and strategic decision-making abilities.
4. Adaptability and results orientation.
