Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Chiswick, Greater London
About the role
This permanent opportunity is to manage the delivery of a portfolio of standardisation projects that provide tailored solutions for clients from a diverse range of market sectors. This typically involves project managing client-sponsored standardisation services such as standards community development and engagement activities, standards, and stakeholder research, as well as standards mapping, scoping, and analysis. This role will suit a qualified Project Manager with experience of working in the information/publishing industry and not in IT. Candidates will demonstrate a proven ability to manage, deliver, drive, and report on a range of projects to deliver every project on time, and within budget and scope.
This role supports the delivery of project-based activities for BSI Knowledge Solutions standardization services clients by providing a consistent and structured delivery focus using appropriate project and program management tools and templates. This role will report to the Head of Content Development within the Content Solutions team of the BSI Knowledge Solutions division. This role is expected to work effectively with clients and external project stakeholders, as well as with key internal stakeholders across Knowledge Solutions
Responsibilities:
1. Project manage and deliver client-sponsored standardisation projects.
2. Proactively drive projects to be completed on time, within budget and scope.
3. Demonstrate best-practice project management techniques to support the project team.
4. Ensure business cases and client proposals are translated into effective project plans, with clearly identified benefits mapped to project deliverables and approved by stakeholders, capturing the information in project initiation documents (PIDs). Establish and apply appropriate project governance and escalation procedures.
5. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
6. Identify, mitigate, and manage risks and issues to the project, capturing and communicating all pertinent information using RAID logs.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
7. Proven track record in project management execution but not in IT.
8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
9. Proven track record of effective internal and external stakeholder management
10. Solid knowledge of MS Project or other project management software tools
11. Proven track record in managing a cross-functional team in a matrix structure
12. Exceptional organizational, time management, and people skills
13. Strong attention to detail
14. Ability to lead stakeholders, irrespective of rank, in a consultative and respectful manner
15. Qualifications to degree level or equivalent body of publishing experience working within content management and delivery
