We are recruiting a Clerk of Works at Caerphilly County Borough Council. Working hours: 37 hours Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time Location: Ty Penallta This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Land and Property Services team. We pay an attractive salary of £34,314 - £37,035 and offer access to training and development opportunities. An experienced Clerk of Works is required within the busy Property Service team to provide support to project officers in relation to Authority improvement and planned maintenance projects to existing buildings and new builds. The Authority has over 700 buildings, excluding housing, and Property Services delivers almost all of the related maintenance and improvement projects. Current and future workload is very high, and the successful candidate will be expected to provide site monitoring with regard to progress, quality and matters of health and safety on projects ranging in value from £10k to £500k on planned maintenance schemes, and £500k to £20million on new builds. The successful candidate will possess excellent technical and communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and a track record in the successful delivery of projects on time and on budget. In return the successful candidate can expect to be kept busy with interesting work and to benefit from the experience and knowledge of the well-established and experienced wider team. For the role, we ask that you have: A relevant Level 4 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example HNC. Knowledge of relevant Risk Assessments. Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work and Health and Safety issues relating to the post. Ability to carry out site surveys, recognise building defects, analyse, evaluate and offer a solution. A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend site inspections, visit clients and attend meetings.
