The post holder must be available to cover all shifts on a rota basis including, early shift, day shift, backshift and nightshift including weekends. This is a 5 over 7 day post and we require the post holder to be fully flexible.
We are recruiting a Portering Supervisor for the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. The main purpose of this role is to co-ordinate the provision of an efficient and effective Portering/Transport service in line with Hospital policies and procedures. The post holder will be a member of a responsive frontline service available to the patients, staff, and visitors of the hospital adopting hands on, flexible cross cover basis. Working with staff using a variety of skills during busy times or emergency situations (e g major haemorrhages) in order to ensure an efficient delivery of service.
All portering duties are expected to be prioritised and the post holder must be able to use their own initiative, as there is times there would not be an onsite line manager the post holder needs to respond efficiently and appropriately to a wide range of requests from various departments throughout the hospital. Good communication skills are essential. You must have a positive, can do attitude and be able to work as part of a very busy team. You must have strong organisational skills and a strong work ethic, have the ability to fully understand that all tasks are essential and to prioritise efficiently, while ensuring all services demands and expectations are met.
A clean UK driving license is essential for this role.
