Job Title: Agency/Supply Workers - SEND Support
Location: Preston
Job Description: We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Agency/Supply Workers to join our team in providing exceptional support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the Preston area. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring these children receive the tailored education and care they require to thrive in a learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver one-to-one or small group support to children with a range of SEND requirements, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and physical disabilities.
2. Implement tailored education plans drawn up by the lead SEND Coordinator, adapting to the specific needs of each child.
3. Establish a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment, fostering self-esteem and independence within the pupils.
4. Utilise a range of teaching resources and sensory equipment to engage and stimulate learning in line with each child's individual requirements.
5. Assist with the development and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute insightful feedback regarding student progress.
6. Facilitate clear and effective communication between pupils, teachers, parents, and other relevant professionals.
7. Adhere to school policies, including safeguarding and child protection protocols, at all times.
8. Attend and participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children with SEND or in a similar support role is advantageous.
2. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to dealing with challenging behaviours and situations.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children and adults.
4. A proactive and collaborative attitude with a commitment to inclusive education.
5. A relevant NVQ or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a willingness to undergo training.
6. A valid Enhanced DBS check.
7. Flexibility with working hours to accommodate the needs of the students and school.
