Role Description
As a member of the annual Remote Global Intern Cohort, you’ll be an important part of the Food Systems Foresight team. You will be responsible for the completion of one pre-determined and one co-created internal project, supporting new business development, and as required, providing support to client teams. You will bring excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work in a self-directed way and in a team environment, and a keen interest in strategic foresight and futures thinking. We are advertising for multiple internship positions, including strategy and human-centred design roles.
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll be part of a young, international team, collaborating to shape a bold new business. When you join Food Systems Foresight, you are joining a consulting collaborative right at its start. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with seasoned professionals to meet the needs of food systems leaders grappling with the high profile and high stakes challenges facing our food systems.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work remotely and often independently. You may also work in teams of 2–3 consultants on deliverables with fixed deadlines. You’ll develop your problem-solving skills and gain exposure to international development, foresight, systems thinking, human-centered design, and strategic planning, and build on the strengths you bring to the collaborative. Responsibilities may include:
1. Researching potential clients and key food systems issues
2. Drafting project proposals and client deliverables
3. Drafting public communications (emails, website updates, etc.)
4. Customizing foresight tools for use by Food Systems Foresight
5. Crafting knowledge management materials on foresight
The internship will run for approximately 8 weeks from early June to late July. We are open to working with individuals across different time zones or for a longer duration of time.
