My client is a global Software company looking to hire a Commercial Technology lawyer fluent in German.
Location / Remote
The role can be hybrid or remote for the right person (based in the UK, Ireland, UK, France, Netherlands, Germany or Belgium where the business also has offices).
Company
B-to-B Software company whose clients are other tech companies, with ca. 2500 employees globally
Headquartered in Europe (no US late night calls)
Legal team headcount is ca. 10-12 lawyers
Established 30 years ago and growing 20% year on year
A secure and exciting business with great culture and brilliant humans (I know the team well)
Role
— International (EMEA) commercial technology lawyer role with 70-80% of the work focused on supporting the company's sales activities
— 20-30%: strategy, processes, templates, hiring etc
— Sales and Legal work in harmony: Legal has huge respect from Sales, they get involved in projects early, get invited to team off-sites, are receptive to advice and training
— The company has fantastic culture based on respect for the individual
— Since it's a smaller team, there is scope to shape your role (select areas of interest and develop them)
— Excellent manager (I've known them for a few years) + supportive colleagues
— Continuous learning and exchange of best practices
About you
We are looking for an experienced commercial technology lawyer who is fluent in German
Ideally with in-house experience (or client secondments) supporting Tech/Software vendors or IT Services companies
A technically strong lawyer, drafter and negotiator (most contracts are bespoke)
Why German speaking?
The role is truly international; Germany is one of the company's key markets. While the contracts are in English, the negotiations are often run in German, hence the requirement.
