Job Opportunity: Behaviour Support Assistant
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated good secondary school in Wilmslow. This full-time position starts ASAP and continues until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural challenges, helping them to achieve their full potential within a supportive and structured environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives and are looking to gain valuable experience in the education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support:
* Work one-on-one and in small groups with students who require additional behavioural support.
* Implement individual behaviour plans and strategies tailored to each student's needs.
* Provide emotional and behavioural support to students, helping them to develop positive coping mechanisms and social skills.
Classroom Support:
* Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour, promoting a positive and conducive learning environment.
* Support the delivery of tailored interventions and behaviour management programs.
* Help with the preparation and organization of resources to support students' behavioural and academic progress.
Monitoring and Reporting:
* Monitor and record students' behavioural progress, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
* Provide regular feedback to teachers, pastoral staff, and parents regarding students' progress and any concerns.
* Contribute to the development and review of behaviour support plans and interventions.
Collaboration and Communication:
* Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and other support staff to ensure a consistent and unified approach to behaviour management.
* Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents, fostering positive relationships and promoting a supportive school community.
* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Assist with the supervision of students during break times, lunch periods, and extracurricular activities.
* Support the implementation of whole-school behaviour policies and initiatives.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful school culture.
Requirements:
* Experience working with young people, particularly those with behavioural challenges, is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students facing behavioural difficulties.
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* A proactive and flexible approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
