Job Description
As a Process Tutor at Cogent Skills, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and training to our apprentices. Your primary responsibility will be to plan and deliver effective teaching and learning against process-based apprenticeship standards, ensuring that our learners achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver learning in line with stipulated knowledge modules, units, and qualifications.
* Develop, produce, and share teaching resources to engage learners and promote effective learning.
* Contribute to curriculum development to enable acquisition of knowledge, skills, behaviors, and embedding maths and English.
* Maintain existing resources and explore opportunities to develop new resources.
* Utilize Cogent's LMS to create an effective and stimulating environment for teaching and learning.
* Promote process operations throughout our apprenticeship delivery and standalone programs.
* Play an active role as part of the delivery team, including contributing to off-timetable workshops, extension programs, competitions, residentials, etc.
* Support learners with special education needs or additional learning requirements to achieve their apprenticeship.
* Work within the guidance of the ESFA and to the requirements of Ofsted to ensure high standards of practice are always maintained.
Requirements:
* Significant industry experience with a level-5 or above subject-related qualification and a degree in science or process-based subject.
* A teaching qualification at level 4 or higher (or willing to work towards).
* A proven record of preparing learners for external examinations, working with awarding bodies (BTEC/C&G), and a record of achieving high pass rates/grades for learners.
* Inspirational teaching and learning practitioner with vast experience of teaching engineering, particularly in the fields of electrical and instrumentation/control.
* Able to develop a strong positive rapport with learners and actively engage them in both classroom and online environments.
* A confident user of IT for administration and lesson delivery (including a high level of expertise in the use of Microsoft Teams).
* A high-level communicator with the skills and ability to work with colleagues as part of a team and to liaise with learners, employers, other tutors, and support staff.
* Well-organized and self-motivated.
* GSCE's or Functional skills level 2 English and Maths.
* DBS Check.
