The Patient Service Centre is recruiting!
The Outpatient Service Team is a hard-working team that is highly motivated and effective. As a large Trust, we have services at six of the sites and provide key services within the patient pathway for outpatient and inpatient activity. We work hard as a team to ensure that patient care is at the forefront of our service. We are a professional and diverse team with different experiences and challenges, recognizing that both professional and pastoral care for our teams is a priority.
We offer a full package of benefits, including a car lease scheme, on-site childcare, generous annual leave in line with NHS terms and conditions, high street and public transport discounts, a 24/7 staff support service, and the little things that make life easier, such as on-site Amazon lockers and fresh fruit and vegetable stalls.
Previous candidates need not apply.
This role involves registering GP referrals as they come in from the GP, booking the first appointment with the patient, and speaking to patients with a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude. Making the first point of contact an excellent patient experience is essential for when they attend their hospital outpatient appointment.
Recording accurate and timely data is a vital part of this role and will support the delivery of national and Trust targets, ensuring appropriate remuneration for work undertaken in the Outpatient Department. Answering calls in a timely manner while remaining professional and supportive is crucial, as this could involve canceling or rescheduling an appointment. Currently, we have a variety of appointments from face-to-face attendance in person at the hospital. The post holder will be required to work across many IT systems to complete tasks.
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.
If you are passionate about people, you’re the perfect fit for us as a health professional.
Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected, and confident that we are making a difference.'
Please note that if you require a Certificate of Sponsorship to work in the UK, you must declare this on your application form, even if you currently have a certificate of sponsorship or a work permit for another role and are already working in the country. We can only sponsor candidates on a Skilled Worker Visa applying for roles Band 5 and above.
Applications for this role should be written by the applicant. If artificial intelligence (AI) programs are used, then the application may be rejected due to this document being an important part of the assessment process. This does not prevent applicants from seeking appropriate support with applications should they need it for the purposes of any declared disability.
