About the role
Aspire is a national charity that works with people with spinal cord injuries, providing practical support and advice to help them regain their independence and go on to lead a fulfilled life We are seeking inspired and driven engineers and scientists who want to make a difference in the understanding and development of assistive and rehabilitative technologies for spinally injured people and to disability science more generally. You can come from any subject discipline bringing a vision for research and a passion for teaching. We are particularly interested in people who want to translate ideas into practice with a strong background in at least one theme such as human-machine interaction, rehabilitation engineering, emergent implantable technology, smart materials, urodynamics, neurostimulation and robotics. This role is available immediately and it is a permanent position.

About you
The post holder must have a Higher academic degree PhD, and evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications. Writing successful grant applications (Desirable (grade 8) / Essential (grade 9).
Must have training in teaching methods and experience of teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate level and other forms of public presentations. Experience in translational research and IP Protection. Further information can be accessed on the Person Specification.
