The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee planned works in the Huddersfield, Northern regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of project execution, from initial planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
The Project
The Project Manager duties and responsibilities:
1. Organise and review works schedules, including resources, materials and supply chain requirements.
2. Liaise and manage teams of contractors and direct construction labour.
3. Establish standards of quality on site and ensure delivery of a build in accordance with the specification and project requirements.
4. Follow procedures to mitigate risks of complaints when working in or around occupied premises.
5. Communicate effectively with clients, project team and contractors.
6. Engage and develop excellent relationships with supply chain, client representatives and consultants.
7. Plan cost effective use of resources and forecast resource requirements in line with budget and projected works.
8. Ensure resources are adequate and competency of the team for the works involved.
9. Securing strong relationships with the client to ensure the potential for follow on works.
10. Monitor work to agreed budget.
11. Identify risk and put in place appropriate contingency planning.
Essential and Desirable Criteria
The Project Manager will meet the following criteria:
Essential Criteria
1. Demonstrable Construction Project Management (external construction works).
2. Previous delivery of relevant projects within the Social Housing sector ideally.
3. Exceptional Health & Safety (H&S) knowledge.
4. Ability to read, interpret and understand programmes, drawings, schedules and specifications.
5. Proven ability to work to and develop operating procedures.
6. Comfortable producing progress updates for the client in preparation for client meetings & internal reviews.
7. To be commercially aware, comfortable working alongside the commercial team, confident in challenging others and ensuring programme deadlines are achieved.
8. Role Appropriate CSCS card.
9. First Aid at work certificate.
10. Valid driver’s license.
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience of working for a social housing client.
2. Experience of overseeing multiple projects.
