About the role The Operational Buyer (OB) role is pivotal as being the link between the Regional/Global Procurement function and the plant and the first point of contact for local stakeholders. The OB is responsible for a portfolio of spend according to the threshold in place (subject to change from time to time) as well as the local gatekeeper for all Procurement processes and their adherence to by stakeholders. He/she is responsible for following up or escalating supplier issues (quality or time), supporting the Category Managers (CMs) with data gathering and analysing for Productivity Projects, maintaining accurate material and vendor master data (in conjunction with CMs and Master Data team in GSS). He/she will record data in order to facilitate a supplier evaluation scorecard. Main accountabilities Responsible for executing MRP. In charge of raising all the Indirect PO’s First point of contact for local stakeholders Raise/follow up on/escalate supplier quality issues. Raise/follow up on/escalate supplier deliveries (qty and/or time) Close collaboration with the Planning Department Ensuring all issue arises on the supply chain are escalated in a timely manner to all stakeholders. Data maintenance Maintain correct information on vendor and material master data (liaise with Master Data teams in GSS) ; MOQs, L/T, safety stock, vendor contact details, PTs, PO maintenance. Managing all the source lists and info records Local contracts Negotiate local contracts according to threshold. Give suggestions of opportunities for regional/global approach. File signed copies of contracts. Productivity projects Support CMs in gathering data Support CMs on RFP analyses Give suggestions for local projects Supplier evaluation Come up with proposals for evaluation points Use of “scorecard” to objectively evaluate supplier performance FES Duty of Care: F ood Safety Carry out responsibilities/duties according to food safety, legal and quality requirements so as to ensure that our products are fit for human consumption. E nvironment Comply with all environmental standards, procedures and work instructions at all times. Report any environmental violations or concerns in order to prevent any impact upon the local environment, its inhabitants and Tate & Lyle. Health & S afety Adhere to the safety policies, procedures and site rules. Actively participate in local EHS programmes including reporting any incidents or concerns and auditing. Performance measures Materials inventory management – minimum disruptions to Production due to materials supply issues MRP control Data accuracy – materials data (OAs, MOQs, L/T, safety stock, payment terms) always up to date Support CMs - satisfaction data and/or survey results Stakeholder relationships - Clear and accurate communication, satisfaction data and/or survey results Savings – based on yearly target for their portfolio responsibility Supplier Performance – local scorecard in place and maintained Legislative requirements A duty to take care of your own health, safety, and that of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
