Band 5 Registered Nurse - Full Time hours on Stroke Rehabilitation
12 Month Maternity Cover
As part of a successful establishment review, exciting opportunities have arisen at Ellesmere Port Hospital for permanent band 5 registered nurses, based on the Stroke Rehabilitation Ward.
If you are an innovative and enthusiastic Registered Nurse, this will be the opportunity for you.
The Stroke Rehabilitation Ward at Ellesmere Port Hospital is a 17-bedded neurological rehabilitation ward. We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join our joint nursing and therapy team.
The successful candidate will continue to develop skills of clinical reasoning and supervision in a supportive, caring, and friendly environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care is maintained. You will enjoy the excellent ethos of multidisciplinary working to ensure effective and efficient patient flow between the Countess of Chester Hospital and Ellesmere Port Hospital.
Main duties of the job
Ellesmere Port Hospital has 59 beds across three rehabilitation units. It is our aim to deliver person-centred care, in the right place, at the right time.
We welcome applications from both newly qualified nurses and those with experience with an interest in the care of older people. We seek individuals who are comfortable challenging change and are committed to improving patient experience.
The Intermediate Care Units have a different focus on care and provide a person-centred approach with the aim of optimising physical health and wellbeing over a 24-hour period. Our units provide short-term general and stroke rehabilitation for patients who are medically optimised but not at a suitable level for discharge home. Patients will transfer from emergency medicine, current inpatient beds, repatriation for a period of rehabilitation, as well as step-up from the community.
The nursing role will be to support patients in managing their long-term conditions and act as an autonomous practitioner. This role would develop your autonomy, discharge planning skills, and relationships with community and third sector services alongside being in a proactive and supportive team.
