Job Title: Teaching Support (SEN)

Salary: £89-95
Role Overview:
As a Teaching Support (SEN), you will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to students with a range of additional learning needs. Your role will involve assisting with classroom activities, supporting individual students or small groups, and helping to implement strategies designed to support their academic and personal development. You will be a key member of the team, helping to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support students with SEN in the classroom, helping them access the curriculum.
2. Work one-to-one or with small groups to deliver targeted interventions.
3. Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
4. Help to manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
5. Support students in their social and emotional development, ensuring their well-being.
6. Assist with the assessment and tracking of student progress.
7. Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals when necessary.
8. Contribute to the development of individual learning plans (ILPs) for students with SEN.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school setting.
2. A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and the ability to adapt to individual learning requirements.
3. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, teachers, and parents.
4. A patient and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting students to succeed.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, while also using initiative when needed.
6. Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN are desirable but not essential.
