Trustee/ Local Governor - Keys Co-operative Academy Trust
Could you be a Trustee or Academy Governor?
Trustees and Governors are volunteers who help Multi Academy Trusts and its schools achieve the highest possible standards of educational achievement. They come from all walks of life and bring a range of skills and perspectives to the role.
Being a Trustee or Governor is a great way to have a positive impact on your community, by making a difference to the lives of its children. You’ll help steer your academy, establish its vision and ethos, and challenge staff to deliver on targets. You will join a team committed to improving the lives and prospects of young people.
About Keys Co-operative Academy Trust:
Our family of schools consists of two large Alternative Provision schools and a Special School for pupils with moderate learning difficulties. Our mission is for each of our academies to be outstanding providers of education, helping young people to succeed in their lives through learning and personal development.
As a co-operative, we support one another by working closely together and sharing our expertise in curriculum, assessment, behaviour, and SEND, which creates fantastic opportunities for our young people. We are committed to continuing improvement through developing each of our schools as learning communities. We offer structured career pathways for our staff, supported by high-quality professional development so our teachers, leaders, and support teams have opportunities to learn together and access bespoke individual programmes.
Our academies are located in Colchester, Heybridge & Brentwood.
What is expected from you:
Local Governors are expected to commit to 4 meetings per year, as well as ad hoc training and depending on role, up to 3 governor visits to the academy each year.
Trustees are expected to commit to 6 meetings per year.
What we will provide:
Keys Co-operative Academies Trust will support you in your new role, providing training, expert advice, and ongoing support throughout every governor’s term of office.
All Trustees/Governors will undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check before they start (organised by KCAT), and you must be over 18 and living in the UK.
If you’d like an informal chat or have any questions about becoming a Trustee or Governor, before completing our online form, please contact us at governance@kcat.co.uk.
