Food and Beverage Manager to 40K Redditch We are looking for a hands-on food and beverage manager to run a £1.2m per year hospitality operation across 2 well known and high footfall community focused leisure and sporting venues in Redditch. You will be based at the largest venue and will run the business which offers a café menu throughout the including wraps, sandwiches, pizzas, baked potatoes, and light bites alongside a fully stocked bar and a busy coffee operation. You will also cater for a wide variety of events and meetings held at the Centres throughout the calendar whilst the outdoor catering area offers great potential to drive both revenue and footfall especially in the summer months. You will also be responsible for the commercial and hospitality operation of a golf course with an assistant manager directly report into you, Overall, you will be leading a team of around 30 full and part time staff across both venues. Unusually for the hospitality industry, you will typically be working between 9 and 6pm during the winter and between 9am and 9pm during the peak summer months with a requirement to work just 1 weekday in two, Whilst there will be a requirement to open and close on occasions there will be many days when you are working during the day with no need to open and close. Key focuses will be: To drive the consistency of service and standards across all areas of the operation. Lead, coach and direct a large team of relatively young staff to consistently deliver high levels of customer service. Have a flair for people management with a solid understanding of HR practices and procedures. To ensure that the kitchen team can consistently deliver the quality and presentation of the menu. That you can achieve the targeted GPs and margins across both wet and dry sales. Efficient rota and stock management to meet the fluctuating demands of the hospitality operation. Have a commercial focus in bringing in both new and repeat bookings, events and business to both venues. Meet all EHO and food legislation standards. We are keen to talk to candidates who have a proven track record as a Food and Beverage Manager, Assistant Manager or General Manager with experience managing a similar sized turnover off 15-20K per week. You must enjoy being hands on and be highly visible and approachable and have the experience to manage performance and ways of working to deliver the service levels required. You will be company expert on food and beverage and as such will not have the wider support that many hospitality businesses and groups can offer.
