Swansea Bay UHB is offering an exciting opportunity for highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced GPs to provide Urgent Primary Care Services to Swansea Bay UHB residents and visitors. You will participate as a key member of the SBUHB Same Day Emergency Care service.
We are looking for GPs to be able to commence, subject to pre-employment checks and being registered on the All Wales GP Performers List. Weekly hours to be discussed and agreed at interview.
Main duties of the job
The post holders will be a fully participative member of the Swansea Bay UHB SDEC - Triaging calls from primary care to care navigate to hospital admission/Ambulatory care/ Community services. The clinician will also assess and treat patients on ambulatory care pathways.
To provide Urgent primary care in the Swansea Bay UHB, working with other team members to a high quality. To respond to medical problems presented by patients, by means of history taking, examination, investigation where appropriate, diagnosis, treatment and referral as needed. To be part of a team that delivers care as appropriate and when necessary to community hospitals.

Swansea Bay University Health Board has responsibility for the health of around 390,000 people in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas, with a budget of around £1 billion and employing 12,500 people. We are a University Health Board working in partnership with Swansea University, Swansea School of Medicine, the School of Health Science and the Institute of Life Science. The HB has three major hospitals providing a range of services: Morriston and Singleton hospitals in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot hospital in Baglan, Port Talbot.
We also have community hospital and primary care resource centres providing clinical services outside the main hospitals.
The Health Board is part of A Regional Collaboration for Health (ARCH), which is a partnership with Hywel Dda UHB and Swansea University aimed at improving the wellbeing and wealth of South West Wales.
