SCADA Technician (Data collation) Duration: 16-Feb-2025 - 27-Jul-2025 Location Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria Travel locations: Liverpool Hours Per Day: 7.50 Hours Per Week: 37.50 Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday Daily rate : £400 - £470 inside IR35 Location: West Coast Region (Barrow-in-Furness & Liverpool) Job Type: Hybrid Industry: Offshore Wind Power SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) is a category of software applications for controlling industrial processes, which is the gathering of data in Real Time from remote locations in order to control equipment and conditions. HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field. Familiarity with SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, Siemens). Experience in asset management software and data recording tools. Key Responsibilities: Validate the Current Asset Register: Conduct thorough audits and validations of the existing SCADA asset register to ensure all equipment is accounted for and accurately recorded. Document and Record Findings: Maintain comprehensive documentation of findings, including asset status, issues, and areas for improvement. Ensure that all data is accurately recorded for future reference. Support Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to ongoing improvement projects by identifying areas of enhancement, offering solutions, and ensuring that SCADA systems operate at peak efficiency. Collaborate with Multi-Discipline Teams: Work closely with engineers, IT specialists, and other technical teams to address issues, improve processes, and implement system upgrades. Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all SCADA activities comply with industry regulations, best practices, and company policies. Preferred Qualifications: HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field. Familiarity with SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, Siemens). Experience in asset management software and data recording tools. Understanding of SCADA system cybersecurity and data protection best practices. Industry Experience: Experience in sectors like manufacturing, automotive, energy, or aviation is valuable. GWO qualifications to work offshore on offshore substations and Wind Turbine generators. Offshore medical Skills: Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of diagnosing complex issues and implementing effective solutions. Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of industry safety standards and regulatory requirements. Project Management: Experience in overseeing equipment installation, maintenance schedules, and team management. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documenting findings and performing system checks. Technical Proficiency in Computers: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and documentation. Familiarity with SAP for asset management and operational workflows.
