An enthusiastic and self-motivated person is required to join our small Trading Standards team to enforce various pieces of consumer protection legislation and to carry out scam prevention work with vulnerable consumers.
The post is currently funded until until 31st March 2026, but we are confident that this date will be extended.

The post involves traveling throughout Argyll & Bute, visiting consumers and traders, and providing enforcement support to our Trading Standards Officers. Your main tasks will include enforcing legislation regulating the supply & sale of tobacco & nicotine vaping products, carrying out official controls on animal feeding stuffs and carrying out scam prevention work with vulnerable consumers. Accordingly, you will be assisting both younger & older consumers and ensuring that animal feeds meet appropriate standards .
Applicants must be educated to Higher standard with good report writing skills and the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate legal knowledge or enforcement experience, and will require to obtain PVG registration
