This post is full-time split between my constituency office in Islington (three days per week) and my parliamentary office at Westminster (two days per week). Flexibility will be essential, as you will be a key member of my team but working in both offices.
You will respond to constituents’ enquiries by phone, letter, and email, as well as problems brought to constituency advice sessions. Discretion and confidentiality are essential at all times.
You will liaise with Central and Local Government bodies, the voluntary sector, and others. You will monitor legislation, carry out research, and provide briefings and advice.
Hours of work: 37.5 per week, mainly Monday-Friday office hours.
Holidays: 4 weeks in the first year, increasing thereafter.
Probation period of three months.
Two references are required and will be taken up before any firm offer of employment is made.
Upon appointment, you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO).
