An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8c consultant clinical neuropsychologist to join our team to lead the provision of psychological services for adults with acquired neurological disorders across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. Your caseload will include clients with ABI, Stroke and long-term neurological conditions.
You will be based at Shropshire Rehabilitation Centre in Shrewsbury although you will also be required to work from other Shropshire Community Health Sites and in patients' homes. You will be joining an enthusiastic and experienced multi-disciplinary team and will work alongside Occupational Therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapy colleagues.
The successful applicant will provide specialist neuropsychological and psychological assessments and treatment for clients with acquired neurological conditions across the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin area. Your interventions will be based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of highly complex psychological data from a variety of sources. You will be required to formulate, develop and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of clients' neuropsychological and/or mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the clients' problems, by employing methods of proven efficacy, across the full range of care settings.
You will be required to undertake risk assessments and employ risk management strategies as appropriate.
The job requires an integrated MDT approach with an emphasis on collaborative working. The post holder will be required to take substantial professional responsibility and exercise autonomous judgement in their professional practice as well as provide the MDT with a formulation led biopsychosocial framework.
