Job summary On 5 March 2024 the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, announced funding for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) to develop its long-term plans for healthcare on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC). This is part of a wider investment in life sciences and economic growth in the Cambridge area and will enable CUH to develop plans to meet the health needs of the existing and planned new population, and to ensure the hospital can continue to play its full part in the success of the CBC. Currently CUH, with partners and supported by external consultants, is developing a vision for the future of acute healthcare services on the CBC and in surrounding communities, together with an implementation plan which will start from March 2025. To support further development of this clinical strategy and the underpinning new models of care, in parallel with implementation of early quick wins, we are creating a small and dynamic project team which includes clinical and non clinical roles. Main duties of the job The Strategy and Major Projects teams work flexibly to deliver priority projects across CUH and the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough healthcare system. The team is deployed onto projects which are critical enablers for CUH and the local healthcare system delivering on its strategy and achieving its vision. The projects may be individual projects, stages of a larger project, or work streams of a programme with dependencies on other projects within the programme. Working autonomously to support the delivery of larger and more complex projects and work streams. An experienced facilitator, the post holder will play a key role in identifying risks and issues, and operate as a skilled negotiator and 'unblocker' to drive progress towards delivery. They will be responsive to the changing needs of the health and care system. The role is crucial for creating and maintaining focus, enthusiasm and momentum. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the programme of work they are allocated. This post will deployed on the Acute Care Strategy project. It will play a crucial project management role to ensure successful delivery of this important and exciting project.
