North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust
We are looking to recruit leaders who want to understand and celebrate the diversity of our local patient and staff populations. Leaders with a growth mindset - who choose to see that there's always a solution to a defined problem - and have the skills to coach for improvement and motivate the individuals and teams around them to perform at a highest level and embrace our Patient First Management System. We are currently looking for an experienced, resourceful and compassionate Director of Nursing to join us.
Main duties of the job
We offer you a unique and exceptional opportunity to make a difference to our local community, which is one of the most diverse in Europe; to our staff, many of whom live locally and who are highly committed to improving the health of our population; and to the next generation of healthcare professionals who come here to learn. We are ambitious in our role as an anchor institution, and seek to influence more than the transactional delivery of healthcare alone. Reducing health inequalities is at the heart of our True North Strategy.
We are in a time of change and opportunity. We have recently expanded our community services offer and are planning to merge with our longstanding clinical partner the Royal Free London group. It's an exciting time for the hospital and our staff; here is your chance to join us and be part of this development.
Our staff are absolutely key to turning our vision of better care for local people into a reality, and we are looking for a Director of Nursing who will share our values, putting being helpful, caring, open and honest at the heart of everything they do and showing a commitment to 'Team North Mid'. If these are values you share we would love to hear from you.
About us
The North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is a medium-sized acute and community trust with over 525 beds and over 600 community staff, serving more than 600,000 people living across Enfield and Haringey and the surrounding areas, including Barnet and Waltham Forest.
The hospital has been on its present site for over 100 years and was established as an NHS trust by statute in December 1990. The Trust's services are provided on the North Middlesex University Hospital site as well as a range of community sites across the London Borough of Enfield, including at partner hospitals. They provide services in collaboration with a range of partners, including local GPs, acute, mental health and other community health service providers across North Central London.
In the year ending 31 March 2024, the Trust reported a turnover of £505m and employed over 5,200 individual members of staff. This increased from the previous year following the transfer of Enfield Community Services on 1st April 2023 when we welcomed over 600 new staff including District Nurses, Community Matrons, Community Physiotherapists, Psychologists and many more across a wide range of adult and children's community services in Enfield. It is an exciting time to join North Mid as we continue our journey as an integrated care organisation to deliver high quality, seamless care in our local communities, with a focus on tackling health inequalities.
