About The Role
* To undertake the cyclical painting programme to a high standard, as directed by manager.
* Preparing painting surfaces by various methods including washing surfaces with correct solutions, rubbing down to remove imperfections, removing old unstable paint, and filling small holes with the correct filler.
* Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
* Providing decorative and faux finishes as required.
* Planning the work in a logical and efficient manner.
* Providing feedback on the completed job.
* Preparing the surrounding area by covering with protective coverings (dust sheets, etc.).
* Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the painting area.
* Calculating the amount of materials and time required for each project.
* Removing fixtures and fittings when possible to ensure all areas are accessible for painting.
* Demarcating areas to ensure clients/customers are aware of work areas and displaying warning signs.
* Purchasing and ordering the correct paints and consumables.
* Cleaning up after the completed job, including replacing removed fixtures and fittings and leaving the area in a clean and tidy condition.
* Making on-site preparations such as erecting tower scaffolding or arranging with the manager to appoint contractors to build scaffolding.
* Escalating disrepairs to the maintenance team.
