An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Ward Clerk to join the Paediatric Cardiac Ward at the Freeman Hospital.
The successful post holder will provide and maintain an efficient and effective administration service to the ward, whilst working as part of the multidisciplinary team. They will be required to work 2 x 7.5 hour shifts, primarily Mondays and Tuesdays.

We are looking for a reliable and highly organised individual who has excellent communication skills. You must also be able to demonstrate an adaptable, enthusiastic approach to your work, and the ability to manage your workload with various competing demands within a fast paced environment.
You must be able to be courteous, respectful and helpful at all times as you will be primarily responsible for greeting patients and dealing with phone calls. We are looking for someone who can work independently as a Ward Clerk whilst integrating into the wider MDT.
Basic IT knowledge is essential. Previous experience with e-record and working within a ward clerk environment is desirable. Training will be provided for use on the systems used within the directorate.
The role involves providing a front line clerical service to clinical staff within the ward, ensuring an appropriate standard of support is delivered in a timely manner. You will provide a meet and greet service to visitors, patients and staff. A key responsibility for the post holder is to ensure the timely and accurate inputting of data is captured for all admissions, transfers and discharges of patients.
You will be responsible for booking appointments for patients and beds for speciality teams.

• Ensures case notes, X rays and results are available for new admissions, ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• To ensure that Casenotes are correctly maintained following departmental guidelines and compliance with legislation (Caldicott Guidelines etc)
