This is an exciting opportunity to join the Palliative Medicine team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton as a Junior Clinical Fellow.
The post is full time with 1 weekend a month working Saturday and Sunday 9am – 3pm.

The post is based on Ward 2 at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital, a palliative care ward providing excellent end of life care to patients. You will be part of the wider Specialist Palliative Care team and will be supported by the palliative medicine consultants. Weekend working is on the Nightingale Macmillan Unit at Royal Derby Hospital.
Whether you’re interested in Palliative Medicine as a career, or want to widen your experience, this will give you chance to gain valuable skills in palliative and end of life care; communication and teaching.
The successful candidate will have a role within the palliative education team, engaging in teaching and developing students and staff.
The Palliative Medicine team works flexibly and there will be opportunity to gain experience in the other areas of the service.
Candidates need full GMC registration, recent NHS experience, a minimum of 2 years’ working in relevant specialties, an interest in palliative medicine and experience of working within a team.

• To provide daily care and management of patients on Ward 2
• Administrative tasks relating to patient care
• Weekend working on the Nightingale Macmillan Unit
• Teaching and education as part of the Palliative Medicine education department
• Active participation in Clinical Governance, audit and research activities.
• Keeping up to date and participating in relevant Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
