Summary (Major Purpose of the Role):
As a purchasing administrator, you will be assisting in the day-to-day running of the purchasing department, ensuring excellent service is delivered to our external and internal stakeholders.
Main Activities/Responsibilities:
* Providing support to the purchasing team
* Supporting all departments with indirect purchasing including supplier identification
* Raise and issue purchase orders
* Maintaining and updating purchasing records and databases
* Raising RFQs and negotiating prices
* Checking order acknowledgments and reporting any delays
* Liaising with suppliers to ensure orders are delivered on time and to specification
* Working closely with other departments to ensure seamless communication and order fulfilment
* Support Goods Inwards and Purchase Ledger in the efficient resolution of queries
* Ad-hoc projects agreed with the Purchasing Manager
* Run various MRP purchasing reports, analyse and action as appropriate, communicating any changes where required
Education and Experience:
* Knowledge and experience of working within a purchasing environment
* Proactive and able to use own initiative
* The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent organisational skills
* Ability to perform effectively and efficiently under pressure
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Knowledge of Syspro & Sage systems is desirable
* A great team player and enthusiasm for working in a high performing team
