HR Admin Officer
to make a meaningful contribution within the
People Services department.
This role is essential to supporting our organisation by delivering excellent HR administrative services and ensuring the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality. Based at our central headquarters in Lloyd House, this position offers a unique chance to be part of a forward-thinking HR team dedicated to supporting our people and enabling the force to perform at its best.
Role Purpose
As an HR Admin Officer, you will play a key role in providing efficient, high-quality support to the West Midlands Police. You'll handle a variety of administrative tasks including managing employee data, updating the HR database, and assisting with payroll and benefits administration. You'll ensure that our processes are smooth, accurate, and customer-focused, contributing directly to the employee experience at West Midlands Police.
Key Responsibilities:
Teamwork & Customer Service: Work as part of a collaborative team, delivering excellent customer service to colleagues and managers across the force. Process Accuracy: Ensure all transactions are completed accurately and on time, prioritising simplicity and efficiency in every task. HR Knowledge: Be well-versed in HR policies, processes, and systems, meeting performance targets and maintaining service standards. Data Management: Maintain an accurate HR database, administering changes, and ensuring that all employee information and documentation are current and compliant. Advisory Support: Respond to daily queries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures. Payroll & Benefits Administration: Process payroll and benefits information accurately, supporting the seamless functioning of these critical services. Integrity & Confidentiality: Handle sensitive personal information with the highest level of integrity and confidentiality. Essential Skills and Experience:
Experience of working in an effective administration environment. Establishing good working relationships with customers. Good communications skills. Able to learn new processes and systems quickly and effectively Able to work effectively as part of a team and deliver results in a highly pressured environment. IT literate, including the effective use of MS Office. Prospective officers and staff must be held to a higher standard of behaviour and accountability than members of the public, and that therefore their right to privacy can be fettered in certain circumstances. This is to ensure that members of the police are fully aware and accountable for the unique powers entrusted to them and the standards of professional behaviour they swear to uphold.
Vetting:
Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter-Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical:
Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
Hours:
This is full-time role (36.5 hours) working between core hours.
