Are you passionate about improving the lives of individuals living with osteoporosis? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated nurse to join our team as an Osteoporosis Nurse Specialist at Band 7 level.
About The Role
As an Osteoporosis Nurse Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with osteoporosis, also identifying and managing patients with fractures. You will provide expert advice, education, and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care is delivered.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Leading the development and delivery of specialist osteoporosis services.
* Undertaking comprehensive patient assessments and supporting treatment plans, including the initiation and monitoring of therapies.
* Providing education and guidance to patients to improve self-management and adherence to treatment.
* Delivering training and support to multidisciplinary teams.
* Collaborating with consultants, GPs, and allied health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
* Auditing and evaluating the service to identify opportunities for improvement.
What We’re Looking For
* Registered Nurse (NMC Registration) with extensive experience in osteoporosis, rheumatology, orthopaedics or endocrinology.
* A postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty is desirable.
* Proven ability to work autonomously and manage a caseload effectively.
* Strong communication, leadership, and teaching skills.
* A passion for improving outcomes for patients with bone health conditions.
