The Role: As Sales Manager, you will lead and develop the sales team, currently consisting of 4 x Sales Account Managers, to drive business growth. You will implement strategic sales initiatives, identify new business opportunities, and enhance existing relationships. A key part of this role is spearheading the department's expansion through proactive lead generation and re-engaging lapsed and smaller accounts. Key responsibilities include: Identifying new business opportunities and maximising the potential of lapsed/smaller accounts. Developing and executing a sales strategy, setting KPIs, and holding the team accountable for performance improvements. Understanding the sales cycle of existing accounts and supporting with costing, quoting, and project management. Providing hands-on leadership, mentoring, and support to drive individual and team success. Identifying marketing opportunities to support sales growth, sourcing, and attending relevant trade shows and exhibitions. Ensuring accurate logging of activities on CRM and facilitating seamless communication between internal departments. Participating in regular Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings and contributing to overall business strategy. The Ideal Candidate: To be successful in this role, you must be a dynamic and strategic leader who thrives on business growth. Background in Technical Sales, HVAC or pharmaceuticals is essential, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and identify client needs. Proven experience in an SME setting with a 'lead from the front' leadership style. Experience managing the full sales cycle for a range of projects across both SME and key accounts. A proactive approach to streamlining processes and improving time efficiency within the team. The ability to drive team motivation while being hands-on in achieving business objectives.
