About the role In this critical role, you will manage and lead the business planning process for the English business, overseeing the annual cycle of the 3-year business plan. You will ensure alignment with the Proposition Strategy, facilitating successful execution and embedding of change across business processes. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of portfolio strategy, financial management, and risk management activities, as well as driving continuous improvement in business processes. This role offers the opportunity to influence business outcomes and play a key part in shaping the future of the English business. Key Accountabilities:
* Business Planning: Lead and evolve the business planning cycle, providing clarity on requirements, timelines, and deliverables across functions. Monitor and successfully engage stakeholders throughout the process.
* Strategic Alignment: Align strategic discussions across governance committees (e.g., BPG, DDCG, POG) to ensure successful communication and cascading of information across the business.
* Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by consolidating requirements and creating, embedding, and evolving end-to-end business processes for new initiatives.
* Financial Management: Oversee the creation and management of budgets across Propositions, collaborating with Finance and reporting on business metrics. Lead monthly budget reviews and coordinate in-year budget revisions.
* Risk Management: Manage the Propositions risk register and coordinate risk activities with other functions, ensuring risks are appropriately monitored and mitigated.
About you You will bring considerable experience in process or change management and be confident in managing business planning processes. With a proven ability to lead senior stakeholders and deliver defined business outcomes, you will be highly organized and collaborative, thriving in a fast-paced environment. To succeed in this role, you will have: Experience:
* Extensive experience in process management or change management, ideally within the publishing or assessment industry.
* Proven experience in managing or supporting business planning processes, financial oversight, and risk management.
* An understanding of Product Management principles and the product lifecycle would be beneficial.
