An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Medical Engineering Technician / Quality Manager to join a small friendly team based at Westmorland General Hospital.
The department is responsible for the commissioning, service, and maintenance of a wide range of medical devices used within all areas of clinical care including ventilation, endoscopy, neonatal, and theatre-based medical equipment.
Duties will include:
1. Medical device commissioning, service, repair, and implementation of regulatory action.
2. Safe disposal of devices at the end of life.
3. Development and implementation of the existing ISO9001:2015 Quality standard.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A good knowledge of electro-mechanical engineering theory.
2. A logical approach to fault finding on complex electro-mechanical medical equipment.
3. Proficient IT skills in the use of a database system for maintenance recording and familiarity with the Microsoft Office applications suite.
4. Knowledge of general medical equipment and medical terminology is essential.
5. The ability to communicate effectively and build lasting relationships with all members of staff, visitors, and suppliers.
6. Good organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise their own day-to-day workload.
