As a Java Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Payment Testing Technology Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. Job responsibilities Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives. Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals. Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience Full stack developers with expert level hands on experience with Core Java 8 and Spring framework (Boot, Integration, DI,Security, JPA etc.) Hands on experience working with messaging platforms such as Kafka, MQ or other. Experience with any log analytic tools like ELK, Splunk etc. Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Proficient in coding in one or more languages Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Practical knowledge of working in a cloud environment with experience in Kubernetes and Docker. Advanced understanding of agile methodologies and devops practices such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Familiarity with modern front-end technologies Exposure to cloud technologies Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
