Main responsibilities of the job:

Steer is seeking to expand our Major Developments offer and is looking for an experienced senior transport consultant to join our London-based team. We work with clients such as The Houses of Parliament, Canary Wharf Group, London City Airport, Argent, and Homes England across a diversified project portfolio.
* Your base would be in our award-winning London office, but we have a flexible working policy to accommodate your needs.

* A significant portion of our projects are repeat work with existing clients, providing opportunities for you to lead and nurture these relationships.
Requirements:
* Support our transport planning services across the UK and internationally.
* Lead work streams within projects with minimal supervision, applying best practice techniques.
* Deliver high-quality highway and transport advice within multidisciplinary teams on various projects, including major developments and sustainable transport initiatives.
* Manage projects, sub-consultants, and support staff as needed.
* Represent Steer at pre-application meetings, design team meetings, and public consultations.
* Proactively take responsibility for tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
* Prepare reports, proposals, and transport planning documentation.
* Manage client relationships and project budgets effectively.
* Contribute to business development through proposals and marketing materials.
* Assist in training junior staff and participate in technical and consultancy skills development.
Ideal candidates will:
* Work well in multidisciplinary teams, leading transport-related inputs.
* Take responsibility for key tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
* Have strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Possess proven project management experience in a transport consultancy environment.
* Hold relevant professional and academic qualifications in transport planning or engineering (desirable).
