The Head of Lower School will play a pivotal role in overseeing the academic and pastoral development of students, fostering an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment. Working collaboratively with senior leadership, the successful candidate will inspire and lead a dynamic team of teachers and support staff, ensuring the delivery of outstanding educational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide visionary leadership for the Lower School, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student progress.
* Develop and implement innovative educational strategies to enhance the learning experience.
* Lead, mentor, and support staff, promoting continuous professional development.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and wellbeing across the school community.
* Monitor and evaluate student performance, setting ambitious goals and ensuring their achievement.
* Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community to support student success.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Proven leadership experience, ideally within a primary or lower school setting.
* A qualified teacher with a track record of delivering high academic standards.
* Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and child development.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
* Demonstrable experience of implementing effective school improvement strategies.
* A passion for educational excellence and a commitment to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where all students can thrive.
* A deep understanding of safeguarding principles and practices.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Experience in a senior leadership role (Head of Department, Assistant Headteacher, or equivalent).
* A strong background in primary education, with knowledge of current educational policies and practices.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* The ability to lead by example, demonstrating integrity, empathy, and resilience.
