A Playworker post has become available at our After School Club at Babraham Primary School. The successful candidate will work every afternoon (Monday to Friday) at club from 3-6pm, totalling 15 hours per week, term time only. For an additional 15 hours per week, the successful candidate could also work at the Babraham Nursery from 12pm, covering lunches across the base rooms for a total of 30 hours per week, term time only. Playworkers support the children in their play by ensuring suitable activities are provided each day whilst overseeing their safety and security. An interest in working with children to support their play and learning is essential as is a willingness to learn. Salary is £11.44 per hour: £6,521 per annum for 15 hours per week / £13,041 per annum for 30 hours per week Babraham After School Club operates in the hall of Babraham Primary School during term time. The After School Club primarily accommodates children who attend Babraham School. Babraham Primary school is a very rural space, and the children enjoy playing in the large hall and the spacious grassed outdoor play environment. Babraham Nursery operates from a large house situated in a quiet corner of a residential area in the grounds of the institute, accommodating up to ninety children on the Early Years register aged form 6 weeks to 5 years throughout the year. There is a large team of Nursery Nurses and Nursery Assistants who care for the children, in addition to staff who provide the meals and administrative support. A Senior Nursery Nurse leads each of the four base rooms supported by the Deputy Managers and Head of Nursery. The successful candidate (working 30 hours) will cover the Nursery Nurse and Nursery Assistant’s lunch breaks, supporting the children within the rooms during mealtimes, sleep and free play. After School Club is registered by the Babraham Institute. Our team of Playworkers are fully supported by the Play Leader and Fun Pack Manager. The Head of Nursery and Fun Pack oversees both clubs on behalf of the Institute. This post offers flexible hours to suit the needs of the individual, either working from 3pm-6pm or 12pm-6pm each day (Monday to Friday), term time only. The successful individual will work either exclusively in the Babraham After School Club or in both the Babraham After School Club and Babraham Nursery.
