ROLE: Assistant Buyer
LOCATION: Tonbridge, Kent
SALARY: £30,000 - £35,000

THE JOB
The client is looking for a dedicated and detail-orientated Assistant Buyer to join our dynamic team. They are looking for someone to support the companies Buyer who is willing to learn and provide administrative support. The company can also offer future progression and routes into other areas of the business.
* Assist the buying team in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects.
* Maintain and update procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes.
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
* Help maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and seek out potential new suppliers.
* Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and document management.
* Prepare and distribute procurement reports and documentation.
* Assist in monitoring stock levels and ensure that all materials are available as needed.
* Coordinate with the warehouse team to manage inventory and track deliveries.
* Assist in the preparation of budgets and cost analysis.
* Process and verify supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
* Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
* Support quality control measures to ensure materials meet project specifications.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Previous experience in a similar role buying or admin position, preferably within the construction industry.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Knowledge of procurement software and tools is a plus.
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO
* A basic salary of £30k - £35k DOE
