On behalf of our EPC client, we are seeking a Senior Buyer to support a major MoD project. This is an initial 12-month contract, extendable for up to 3 years, subject to review. This role is offered hybrid. B ased out of Christchurch, Dorset, three days per week on-site.
~ The Senior Buyer will support the Procurement Manager in executing procurement processes for a major MoD project. This includes supplier selection, evaluation, risk management, and ensuring compliance with EN9100 standards.
Provide strategic recommendations based on business insights, supplier analysis, and risk assessments.
Conduct supplier site assessments, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring follow-up actions are completed and supervise the allocation of tasks for direct reports, ensuring procurement records are accurate and up-to-date.
Identify and address supplier risks, such as financial instability, cybersecurity threats, and product safety, to maintain business continuity.
Strong procurement experience, ideally within the UK Defence Sector and knowledge of MoD procurement processes.
In-depth understanding of legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations, with excellent risk assessment and supplier management skills.
Proven ability to collaborate across functions, manage stakeholders, and address procurement challenges.
Detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to improving processes and driving efficiency.
